Focuses on design, recommendations, and documentation only.
Includes assessment of storage hardware, external NAS/SAN solutions, and disaster recovery approaches.
Provides guidance and documentation, not direct procurement, installation, or managed service.
Consultant Responsibilities
Gather requirements and evaluate existing storage environment.
Recommend hardware platforms or cloud-based storage options aligned to client goals.
Produce a generic “How-To” deployment guide that outlines implementation best practices.
Provide a cost estimate for cloud storage options (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, if specified).
Exclusions
No direct purchasing of hardware or software.
No hands-on deployment, migration, or monitoring unless covered under a separate managed services contract.
No vendor financing or licensing negotiation on behalf of the client.
Support Tools & Access
Consultants may request temporary secure remote access (e.g., Microsoft Quick Assist, VPN, or similar tools) for validation or advisory support.
All access must be explicitly approved by the client and will be limited to agreed-upon sessions.
Client Responsibilities
Provide accurate information on current workloads, storage requirements, and DR needs.
Review and approve recommendations before purchasing hardware, licenses, or cloud services.
Execute all procurement and implementation activities independently or through a separate vendor.
